Reducing the Threats of Cyber Game Play with Increased Security

By Kamini Kandica Abdool

When the internet is involved anything can become exciting. It’s true, I said it the other day and realized almost immediately that it is the truth. It is the reason why so many people now turn to the internet for entertainment and to engage in social activity and entertainment. The problem is however, that the internet is also a place that harbor predators, profilers, and other cyber criminals.

En route to entertainment, there are times when the request is not completely fulfilled.

The figure above describes the outcome of a page request that might be accessed by multiple users at the same time. Through no fault of any of the users, the page might continuously refresh because too many users are trying to access it at the same time and provide the end-user with erroneous information. Seems like just a glitch I know, but, it’s way that users return to their own computers with predators following.

When connecting to forums and internet for play, the safest means is to connect through a firewall or to use an antivirus. Changing your browser setting to block traffic is also important but the risk is that some threats will still get through. Timing is everything and the right opportunity can be supplemented with better security measures. The solution might not be so apparent right away but a long term commitment better security while gaming will result.

  7. Update :
Someone requested some more information to this blog and so proposed this update:

Review Your Agenda and Make it Safer
The objective here is not to create a pattern but to normally pay attention to the actions that you take when logging on to or communicating on the internet. Is your internet setup missing a component that might make you safer? I know that people ask over and over again for the technician to communicate in layman’s terms, you the user, can be more technical if you want.

Refer to the setup in as technical as a term that you can. Ask questions. Request your dream makeover for your computer system.

    See if that helps
